在香港长大、上海交通大学土木工程系毕业的顾铁华,在1962年回港后,又凭借西德政府奖学金赴德深造工商管理。1975年定居香港,他创立了跨国集团联中企业有限公司,业务遍布实业、国际贸易、航运和房地产开发,拥有二十多个分支机构、三千余名员工。

自幼受家庭熏陶,顾氏对京剧和昆曲有着浓厚兴趣。他曾跟随张澍声学习京剧七年,并由甘贡三启蒙习唱昆曲。在俞振飞门下正式成为第一位海外入室弟子,其表演艺术得到了业界认可,被誉为可以媲美俞门专业,同时又有独特的“书卷气”。
