我在饭桌上张开腿，让爸爸看着欧美电影。记得那是一个周末的下午，我和爸爸一起在家里放松，妈妈出去做点外卖。我突然灵机一动，就想尝试一下能不能让这个平时总是严肃认真的男人，也体验一下轻松愉快的时刻。
我走进客厅，看到爸爸正坐在沙发上看电视。他眼神专注，一边咬着牙刷，一边偶尔抬头打量着屏幕上的内容。我悄悄地走过去，然后在他身边坐下，我知道这时候要小心，因为通常情况下，他不喜欢有人打扰他的私人时间。
我清了清嗓子，说：“老板，你今天有什么好吃的计划吗？”希望这样的话能打开话题，同时也表明我并不打算干扰他的节目。 dads face softened slightly as he replied, "Well, I was thinking of ordering some pizza." My heart skipped a beat. This was the perfect opportunity.
I took a deep breath and said, "Great! Why don't we watch something together first? There's this new European film that I've been wanting to see." He looked at me curiously but agreed, saying it would be nice to spend some quality time together.
As we sat down on the couch with our legs crossed or rather, mine were open and inviting – the movie began. The opening scene was set in a beautiful countryside with rolling hills and picturesque villages. The cinematography was breathtakingly beautiful; it felt like we were there ourselves.
My dad couldn't help but let out an occasional sigh or whisper words of praise about how well-made the film was. It seemed that even he couldn't resist its charm. As for me, I found myself completely absorbed in the story and characters.
At one point during the movie when a romantic scene unfolded on screen – my dad glanced over at me with an embarrassed smile before quickly looking away again. But then he turned back to look at me once more before focusing his attention back on the screen.
The moment passed without any further incident, but it made me realize that perhaps there is more common ground between us than I initially thought. We both appreciated good storytelling and enjoyed spending time together despite our differences in interests or preferences.
In hindsight, suggesting we watch a foreign film might have been unconventional for such an occasion but it ended up being quite successful in bringing us closer together for that fleeting moment at least until dinner arrived anyway!
